"Where the principle of difference [between political parties] is as substantial and as strongly pronounced as between the republicans and the monocrats of our country, I hold it as honorable to take a firm and decided part and as immoral to pursue a middle line, as between the parties of honest men and rogues, into which every country is divided."

About Polimania

I’m committed to Democratic politics. It wasn’t always so.

I dedicated myself to changing the political landscape in 2001, as I watched an election stolen right in front of the entire world.

I saw the same thing happen again four years later and it only strengthened my resolve to do everything I could to make sure that it never happens again.

Over the past six years, I’ve officially joined the Democratic Party, become a committee member, precinct captain and activist. I’ve worked for candidates, knocking on doors, passing out literature, organizing house parties and raising money. In that time, I’ve met dozens like myself who came late to the role of activist and who continue to feel our way through the process.

This blog is another step in that progression. Since I began my professional career as a journalist and worked most of my life writing, it was a natural step. I’m not sure where it will lead, but I think it will be fun.
